Love the Shrug but…

I received the navy blue shrug from my sister for my birthday and loved it! I was going on a cruise and ordered it in white as well it’s nice and light and just perfect to keep the chill off. However, while on the cruise, I noticed a hole in the back by the sleeve. It is a very delicate sweater! I tried stitching it back together, but the hole kept on getting bigger! I have not tried to return it as I’m not sure if it was my fault or just a defect? I was able to spend more time stitching the hole again and hopefully it will be OK!
